Our beautiful steam roller van previously belonged to Driffield County Council, where she remained for duration of her working life. She was extremely lucky that the day she was due to be 'disposed of' a man from nearby Kilham saw her and thought she would make an excellent summer house! He purchased her for £100.00 and had her towed to his garden where she remained for 25 years. During this time the owner looked after her very well keeping her roof and undercarriage in good order and painted. He also kept many of her original features. Over the years the area of Kilham became built up and when we purchased her the only way we could extract her from the gentlemens garden was through a farmers fence, over his field and out through the farmyard! Since then she has gone through a complete rebuild and refit and was completed during the 2020 Covid 19 lockdown.
